Beneath the broad avenues, densely built neighbourhoods and animated streets of Buenos Aires runs the Subte. The local abbreviation of “Subterráneo” is inseparable from the identity of the Argentine capital and refers to Latin America’s oldest underground railway system.

The Buenos Aires Edition translates this historic urban transit culture into a permanent collector’s object made from natural black slate. At its centre is a detailed full side-view illustration of a Subte train. Its carriage shape, windows, doors and technical linework have been precisely developed for light laser engraving.

The dark, naturally broken stone surface combines with the precise train drawing to create an object positioned between transport history, metropolitan life and contemporary urban art. The engraving appears like a permanent trace taken from beneath the city.

The Buenos Aires Edition is strictly limited to only 25 pieces worldwide. Each slate plaque is individually numbered 01/25 to 25/25 on the reverse and supplied with a Certificate of Authenticity.

This edition is created for Subte enthusiasts, train writers, graffiti and street-art fans, Buenos Aires lovers and collectors of international subway culture. It combines the city’s long transport history with its lively, direct and unmistakable urban atmosphere.

“Subte” is the name actually used in Buenos Aires and is therefore retained throughout the product title and description. “Metrobus” would be incorrect because that term refers to the city’s bus rapid transit system.

The artwork is an independent artistic interpretation of Buenos Aires Subte culture. It contains no official operator logos, line colours, route numbers or line identifiers and is not affiliated with any transport company.

Every plaque is made from genuine natural slate. Variations in surface, edges, stone texture and engraving appearance are natural characteristics that make each of the 25 pieces unique.
