ET420 S-Bahn Slate Art – Laser-Engraved Graffiti Heritage Edition
ET420 / GRAFFITI HERITAGE / SLATE EDITION / 25 PIECES
A German S-Bahn classic and graffiti-era witness, permanently engraved into natural black slate.
The ET420 Edition is the heritage finale of the first Chromatica City Series: an original full side-view illustration of the classic three-car ET420 laser-engraved into genuine black slate.
The Class 420 shaped the railway landscapes of several German metropolitan regions for decades. Its characteristic carriage form, repeated doors and windows and long presence in urban railway environments also made it an enduring reference point within German train-writing and graffiti photography culture.
The dark natural slate gives the artwork the character of a recovered transit relic. The light engraving appears like a trace from an analogue photo archive, positioned between railway history, graffiti heritage and contemporary urban art.
25TH / FINAL / LIMITED
The ET420 is the 25th and final artwork in the first Chromatica City Series. This special German Graffiti Heritage Edition is strictly limited to 25 pieces worldwide. Every plaque is individually numbered 01/25–25/25 on the reverse and supplied with a Certificate of Authenticity.
NATURAL BLACK SLATE
The artwork is engraved into natural black slate in an approximately 30 × 20 cm landscape format. Natural variations in surface, broken edges, stone texture, tone and engraving brightness make every plaque individual.
ET420 / GERMAN GRAFFITI HERITAGE
Unlike the preceding city editions, the ET420 Edition is not assigned to one individual city. The class operated across several German regions and is presented as an independent German Graffiti Heritage Edition within the City Series.
The artwork is an independent artistic interpretation of ET420 and German S-Bahn culture. It contains no official operator logos, route numbers, destination displays or line identifiers and is not affiliated with any railway operator or transport association.
